I opened Mitten in my own house, with my own kids' friends at the table. Some families come because they want a man in the room, and some just want someone calm who knows the routine. Either way, I make the lunch, read the same three books again, and get everyone into their boots.

How I run the home
I keep the group small on purpose. Up to six children means I know each of them well: who needs a long cuddle at the door, who is ready for the big table, and who still wants to stay in the boots all day.
I write to families in the evening, once the house is quiet, and I am easy to reach by text. If you would like to talk it through before a tour, call and I will pick up when I can.
