Family policies

Photos of your child

We ask your written permission before we share any photo of your child, on this site, in newsletters or on social media, and you can change your answer at any time. We never put a child's name with a photo, and the photos on this site are examples until we replace them with our own.

When to keep your child home

Children with a fever, vomiting or a contagious rash stay home, and come back once they have been fever-free and eating normally for a full day. If a child gets sick here, we call you right away.

Drop-off and pickup

Drop-off and pickup are at the door, in person. Tell us who may collect your child, and we ask for ID from anyone we don't know. Text us if the plan changes.

Meals, snacks and allergies

Mathias cooks lunch and puts out two snacks. Tell us about any allergy at the tour, and once you enroll, we ask again in private.

Naps and safe sleep

Babies sleep on their backs, in their own cots, with nothing in the cot. Older children rest on mats after lunch, with a quiet book.

What to wear and bring

A full change of clothes every day, and shoes that stay on. In winter, the six things on the gear list: boots, snow pants, a coat, two pairs of mittens, a hat with a neck warmer, and dry clothes.

Closures for weather and holidays

We close for the usual holidays and for a week in summer. If Mathias is ill or the roads are bad, we text families as early as we can, and we go over the backup plan with you at the tour.

Leaving the program

We ask for two weeks' notice before a child leaves, by text or in writing.
